20 Nov Retail Revolution
With billions and billions of retail dollars up for grabs, real-estate developers are seriously upping their mall-game by catering to the whims and desires of those holding the cash. Companies are tasked with predicting trends and anticipating customers needs and wants- and it’s a lot more than what’s being sold off the rack. More time at the mall translates into more revenue. Satisfaction turns into sales. Malls have always been a mecca for socializing, but modern malls are full-on “retailtainment” experiences with no expense being spared. Experiential retail is a huge draw with pop-up shops featuring meet-and-greets with influencers and A-list celebrities. There are on-site Directors of Mall Entertainment curating eye-catching Instagram-worthy pop-up museums. The Last Line, an uber-chic, e-commerce jewelry brand set out to “rewrite the rules of mall piercings” with an upscale temporary space at Westfield Century City, complete with its own pop-in within a pop-up featuring custom embroidery by Levi’s. Community lawns, home to large-scale events such as food festivals, wellness experiences and outdoor movie nights, are popular perks to an otherwise average shopping experience. I guess what we’re saying is – if you’ve dreamed it, it probably exists. And that is a very good thing.
In the hopes of making retail as enjoyable as possible, architects and interior/landscape designers and are specifying luxury furniture, fabrics and finishes in their projects. And that’s where Kindle Living comes in. Our outdoor heaters and lamps provide warmth and glamour, coupled with a touch of wow and whimsy.
